AZRZ:How long have you been into photography?
I always fiddled around with cameras as a kid thanks to my parents, but I got into it seriously about 8 years ago right around the time I started skating.

AZRZ:What made you want to start taking photos?
My dad giving me a camera and fascination with pictures.

AZRZ:Have you taken any photography classes?
Besides two years in high school, no. I started taking a class at the local community college a while back but dropped out because I felt it was a waste of time and boring.

AZRZ:What type of camera/set up do you have?
I use a Nikon d40 because I love the fast flash sync speed it has. I don’t really care for sequence shots so it’s the perfect camera for me. As for everything else:
Nikkor 18-70mm
Nikkor 70-300mm VR
Some shitty brand 135mm prime
Two Vivtar 283′s and a Vivitar 2800
Cheapie eBay slaves
Tripods and yadda yadda yadda

AZRZ:Favorite type of photos to take?
Candid.

AZRZ:What’s the worst part of taking photos of rollerbladers?
Telling my parents I’m gay??? I don’t know… probably asking someone to re-do a trick because I fucked up or because their body position was weird. I can be picky about that.

AZRZ:Which do you like to do better, rollerblade or take pictures?
Rollerblade but nothing beats seeing the final result of a good shot… euphoric.

AZRZ:Who are your favorite photographers?
I can’t really say that I have one.

AZRZ:What do you think the best and worst trends in rollerblading photography are?
Well, I feel like I see way too much fish-eye stuff and that can get old really fast. It seems like the “ace-in-the-hole” lens that people use to easily impress laypeople. I understand that it’s necessary in some situations but for it to be constantly attached to your camera is lame.

Best trend: I’m not sure… originality?

Pictures from 6/20/09 Adam B, Keith B, Luke K, Chad H, and Kenny S

Myself, Chad, Adam, and Keith met up today at this little bump to ledges where Adam got about 2 clips, Chad got one, and Keith got 3. We were there for about an hour or so and then we decided to go to the Tatum ledges which ended up being really chunky by now. We decided not to skate there and headed to ‘Secret School’ which ended up having a lot of people so we called up Taylor to get directions to a bank to ledge spot. None of us have ever been there so it took some driving to find. After we got there Adam, Luke, and Chad got some clips and then Kenny called asking for directions. Kenny finally got to the spot after Luke yelled the directions at him over the phone. After Kenny got there here did 2 tricks right away, which was pretty sweet. After that we ended up going out to get food, after which I went home and they headed to a skatepark out here in Phoenix.

Today Myself, Chad, Luke, and Adam and Keith met up at ‘word em up’ ledges. Adam and Keith are down here filming for their and Chads new Nimh edit. Adam and Keith did a lot of tricks, Chad looked cool, and Luke did one trick. After that we went to try to go to some ledge which didn’t work out, so then we went to this brick down to flat ledge we found…it looked cool, but after being there for a few minutes we got kicked out by some dude that drove up. After that, we drove to a parking garage where Chad rolled down this kink ledge to gap 180 to the street. Then Keith and Chad skated the down ledge at the parking garage, Keith did 2 tricks and Chad did one before we got kicked out. Then we started to drive to the shop and then I went home! Fun!

My Bad – Old Leftovers Edit

Just random clips I went through a couple hours ago. I wanted to make an edit so I threw this together pretty quickly. The clips are anywhere from 2 years ago – 6 months ago. So yeah. A lot of park clips and stuff that I never used.
